The elder Vampire, Kayen Storm, had been living off of the wilderness for the past hundred years. Although he had managed to keep up and blend in with the times, he preferred to live outdoors with nature. He was hungry and he decided to find something to eat. Even though he was a Vampire, he refused to feed from Humans and he was able to sustain himself on the blood of animals. It was for this reason that he was skulking around a small cattle farm.
He was as silent as possible as he crept up to the barn. He carefully pushed the door open and snuck into the barn. Most of the cows were outside in the pasture, but just as he thought, there were a few suckling calves. Within a few seconds, the Vampire had latched onto the neck of a screaming calf and started to feed. After he had gotten his fill, Kayen released the still living calf and he quickly exited the barn. He set off away from the farm quickly, hoping that he hadn't been seen....

God is empty, just like me.------------------------------------ Unfortunately, he was spotted. "Fool! You consider yourself a vampire and here you are feeding off lifestock?!" A blur of movement could be seen by the Ancient, and then it abruptly stopped about ten feet away. Standing there was a female clothed in black, her hand resting on the hilt of her blade. It's clear from her piercing gaze, and her earlier tone, that she wasn't happy by what she had witnessed. Claws tapped against her weapon of choice whilst her gaze analyzed him in a cautious manner. This is an older one, and he may be more experienced than you. Better be careful about this. Being careful was never on her agenda.
"Such a shame to see one of your age sulking around here as if though shamed by what you are. A true vampire would at least be proud, and take what it rightfully theirs." The female's nostrils flared, taking in the scent of fresh blood from livestock, and flinched in disgust. Animal blood never fully settled with the female. Not to mention she was one of those vampires that couldn't stand the thought of harming one of "mother nature"'s creatures. Ever since she developed such a deep connection with the earth, The Countess felt as if though animals had more than humans. A sense of...innocence in some form. 'Course that doesn't mean she won't kill an animal if she had to prove something. Shows how reliable she could be.
"...you disgust me." With a huff, she walked past him, and continued on her way. She won't kill this one, no, he didn't deserve to taint her blade with his blood.

Kayen might have been loyal to the Humans but he was by no means a coward. When he heard the voice, he knew it had to be a Vampire to get the drop on him and he quickly spun around. His hands lifted into a martial arts stance as he listened to her and then he hissed loudly, fangs bared. "I am by no means ashamed of what I am! But I am ashamed of what most Vampires have become..."
When she shoved past him, the Vampire hissed and he grabbed her arm, trying to turn her back around. "Who the hell are you? Do you just walk around bothering those who you feel aren't as good as you?" He asked as he glared into her eyes deeply, studying her.

God is empty, just like me.------------------------------------ The vampiress allowed the male to grab her arm, and spin her towards him. Rather than showing anger, a hint of amusement was seen in her eyes as their gazes locked. Slowly, a smug grin spread across her ageless features before her lips parted, "Ashamed of what vampires have become. The old vampires preyed upon humans instead of low-life animals. You have become the disappointment that has merged with the true vampiric race." In one, swift movement she snapped her arm away, and folded both of them.
"Who am I? Good question. I suppose I shall offer my titles," Amoura bowed, but in a very mocking manner, and chuckled, "Countess Elizabeth Bathory at your service! Otherwise known as 'The Blood Countess' or 'Countess Dracula'. Ah...the titles that humans give to legends," she gave a sharp laugh. Oh yes, she knew she was acting prideful, and she loved it! In her mind she had every right to gloat about the aliases given to her over the years. "And the right I have is because I am a pureblood, proud, and unwilling to give up my way of life to 'help' the 'cattle' that overpopulate this planet. All others who don't follow the original path of the vampire should at least be scolded a few times."

Kayen listened to the Countess rather unamused as she preached to him about True Bloods and the like. It wasn't until she said her name that he flinched. He had heard the name but it was still surprising to him. Nonetheless; he was not afraid of her and he decided to challenge her attitude. "Hmm well if you're so high and mighty and important, why are you not out fighting in the wars? I think you're a coward now even more than I did a few moments ago."
He grinned slowly as he took a few steps away from her. He separated his feet and reached up to brush his hair back. It looked like an innocent gesture, but in reality he was preparing himself just in case she attacked. He was stupid for having been here with no weapons. "I, on the other hand, am active in the wars... just not on the side you are....."
With a cocky grin that was supposed to anger her, Kayen waved his fingers as if he was trying to bait her into attacking him.

God is empty, just like me.------------------------------------ The Countess chuckled at his statement rather than becoming irritated. "So because I'm not fighting in the wars automatically labels me a coward? Hah!" The female laughed, and gradually allowed it to die down.
"I find joining a side to be such a drag!" She heaved a sigh, "It's no fun when you're restricted and unable to follow your own set of rules. I am involved in the war, yes, I just decide to do what I wish!" Humming under her breath, she spun around towards the barn house where he drank blood from one of the cows, "Though you are far more cowardly to not prey on what is meant to be prey."
Rather than sounding like a lecturer, she sounded more like a mother who was disappointed in an ignorant child. "Alas! Morals like that shall be the death of our kind. Shame really."
