(( Just a wee thing to pass the time and showcase some of the things Hunters will be using to cut your characters immortal lives short! Enjoy!))
Colt 45.
Also known as the model 1911. No Hunter worth the salt would be caught dead without one of these. The basic design of this pistol hasn't changed in almost a centuary as a testimony to it's near perfection. Using a heavier 45 round, the colt packs plenty of stopping power, fires as fast as a man can pull the trigger and is easy to clean and maintain. Modifications include a long slide version, laser sights, silencers and extended clips. Professional hunters will have access to hollow point rounds with a filling of your choice from silver shavings, holy water and garlic right up to high end military tracer rounds. The standard colt only carries eight shots, but that's usually eight kills.
Remmington Sportsman shotgun
Rugged, Compact, hard hitting at close range and easy to use. This weapon has been a favorite of hunters since it's creation. Offering massive stopping power at close range, affordability and satisfying sound all in one this little close quarter monster has put short many an immortals life. Normally firing twelve gauge buck shot the shells can be swapped out for silver sharpnel for dealing with vampires and lycans, normal round for those mortal baddies and rock-salt for dispersing ( Albet on a temporary basis) creatures like Ghosts and wraiths.
Crossbow
When you start to feel nostalgic nothing fits the bill like this medi-evil weapon. Relying on string tension to propel a projectile ( Refered to as 'bolts') this weapon may seem out of date but many hunters prefer it to modern day firearms. Cross-bows come in two types, large, heavy, two handed bows with plenty of range and fire-power or smaller, typically lighter 'hand' bows. They range from anceint weapons of hard wood and twine right up to high-tec, scoped bows made out of high end plastics and shock treated material. Bolts are usually silver, if at all possible and have the advantage of being able to be used more than once. It's not uncommon for a hunter to opt for this weapon, dubbed ' the perfect silent killer' during operations in which stealth is required.
Stake and Hammer
A must for any city dwelling hunter. The difficulty one faces when killing a vampire is legendery for you face not just a foe who is superior to humans in every way but also a monster who can hide itself in the rings of society, moving seamless amoung the human population who never know of the creatures true nature. Those brave few souls who journey into other night with the hoe of rooting out these evil creatures often carry these items. Used to imaple a vampire, usually before beheading and burning the remains, the stake can be made of anything from hard woods right up to steel and silver.
Bag of salt
Looks fairly harmless to you and I does it not? However many Hunters carry such an item about them for t's many uses. Salt can be used to capture and banish ghosts, exorcise demons, secure a place of entry soo no evil creature may pass the threshold and give soup that required extra taste.Consumption in excess is not recommended.
" Holy Items"
A naturally superstious bunch, even the most fearless of hunters carry the odd trinket for protection or luck. For instance a Sant Andrews cross ( Scottish, An X shaped cross as opposed to a t shape) is said to bring good luck to travllers, a horse-shoe and iron nail is said to scare off witches, a small hand mirror can be used to keep ones true self remembered. The items do not need to be religious however. One Hunter was well known for carrying a piece of Davey Crocet's finger bone to bring him good fortune.
